About Gerry’s…
Geraldine Giles established Gerry’s (aka Gerry’s Creations, Inc) in 1950. The 1950s saw a peak in the popularity of costume jewellery, with many well-known costume jewellery companies establishing themselves at this time. The most famous designs by Gerry’s were their Christmas brooches, which will be familiar to most collectors of this brand. In addition, they were known for brooches fashioned in the form of animals, birds, butterflies and flowers. Gerry’s was also known for themed brooches – Gerry’s ‘sport’ series for example – but they are particularly rare to find. In spite of forty years of trading, the company closed in 1996. However, Gerry’s costume jewellery is now considered quite rare and collectable.
Why we love costume jewellery
Classic and elegant, costume jewellery can add uniqueness and flair to any outfit, smart or casual, at an affordable price. Vintage costume jewellery is a statement – and is a great way to express your individual style. It is also great to know that you are unlikely to find two identical, so there is not much chance of someone wearing the same as you.
